The last decades have witnessed that all sciences become rapidly borderless, expecting new cross-disciplinary fields in the first century of new millennium. Materials science and chemistry have also seen great strides in recent years. The development of new materials, syntheses of new functionality molecules and technological advances are "keys" to bringing about a new society and school of science. At this institution, we have established a new education-research system, the Division of "Molecular Materials Science" for training graduate students by joining and restructuring the old fields of "materials science" and "chemistry". The organization of the new system consists of five new sizable subdivisions with 38 faculty members. We peer very hard at the education of graduate students within an open, friendly and international atmosphere. We also encourage the students in their attempt to develop research areas in terms of new paradigms.
