・The 21st century COE program “Constitution of wide-angle mathematical basis focused on knots”

Professor J. P. Sauvage is one of the top leaders in the fields of coordination chemistry, electrochemistry, and supramolecular chemistry. He has successfully created a novel series of functional molecules such as cryptands and catenanes, and bridged between chemistry and biology. He has also presented several beautiful works focusing chemical topology, in which he organized a variety of artificial molecules in knots. Since he recently applied his molecular knots in the development of molecular machines including molecular shuttles and logic devices, the audience can enjoy his fascinating lecture.
