KOOK Seminar is a seminar monthly held which is organized by members in Kobe University, Osaka City University, Osaka University, Kwansei Gakuin University and Nara Women's University for more than twenty years. We have also an seminar annually held which we call Extended KOOK Seminar. This conference is an international version of KOOK Seminar.

The aim of this conference is to promote academic challenges, cooperations, exchanges and understandings on the research area of knot theory and related topics. The number of participants was 123 (Japan 77, U.S.A. 20, Korea 10, India 2, Canada 2, Russia 2, Australia 2, China 2, Italy 2, France 2, U.K. 1, Mexico 1). In the plenary session 14 lectures of 40 minutes and in the parallel session 40 lectures of 20 minutes were delivered.

As one can see from their abstracts, this conference has concerned lots of recent topics on knot theory and I believe that this conference has succeeded in having discussed them actively.
