Feature
Osaka City University Advanced Mathematical Institute (OCAMI) was founded in 2003
as the 21st Century Center of Excellence Program (2003 - 2007).
After the program finished, OCAMI continues to promote an
international research
and educational institute of mathematics and mathematical physics.
Especially Professor Yoichiro
Nambu, who received a Nobel Prize in physics, worked at Department of
Physics at our university, and the tradition is inherited from him and other researchers who are pillars of
researches in physics in Japan.
In addition two previous OCAMI’s programs were
adopted by
the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS): the
Institutional Program for Young Researcher Overseas Visits
(May 2010 -
February 2013) and Strategic Young Researcher Overseas Visits Program for
Accelerating Brain Circulation (2011 - 2013).
Based on these achievements, OCAMI
will train young high-level researchers with internationality and
will evolute international research network more extensively and strongly.
