Introduction to quandles and discrete symmetric spaces.

The notion of quandles is originated in knot theory, but also can be regarded as (a generalization of) discrete symmetric spaces. In this talk we introduce basic notions and examples of quandles, and show that ideas in the theory of symmetric spaces are useful to study quandles.
